Looking For Guest Bloggers

Looking For Guest Bloggers
Welcome to Jester's Communique!
This is a brand new format I am trying for what used to be a weekly (or so) email.  I'm not sure if I will post going forward on a weekly basis but this "blog" style format will have a permanent home on the "Jester" Section Hiker website for all to enjoy and for me to have a permanent place for communication beyond what you hear in the podcast!  Plus starting a blog as a communication tool also allows me to get better at writing!
I also want to put out there that I would love to have "guest bloggers".  A place where section hikers can share their stories beyond the podcast in written form and have your writings permanently featured on the podcast website.  Not everyone is comfortable coming on a podcast so why not share some writings as well.  And maybe we could combine sharing your writings with an episode of the podcast and talk more about what you have written.
Here's all you have to do to be a "guest blogger"
1.  Share with me what you have written to
2.  Attach one picture
3.  Give a title to what you have written
4.  Try to keep to 500 words or less
I hope you all enjoyed this week's episode that released yesterday with Julie Breindel-Hill.  Julie just finished a 500 mile section hike on the AT this summer and is a fellow Educator.  Listen to this weeks show here: "Jester" Section Hiker
In my last communique I shared that co-host Austin Wallis and I have been working on our first mini series documentary together titled, I Am The MST.  We had the opportunity to share the completed trailer for the series with the Mountains to Sea Trail Board a couple of days ago and we are thrilled with their response!
My presentation to the MST Board for a new "Hiker Engagement Committee" was also a success and was passed.  So I can start making things happen later this fall with that as well.  Exciting things to come!
"I Am The MST" will officially begin releasing on Austin's YouTube Channel starting 8/27 and a new episode for the series will be released each Saturday in September. Coinciding with the release of the documentary you will also hear on the podcast a “behind the scenes” or “tell all” account of how the idea for the documentary was formed and how we put each episode together starting 8/27 as well.  We are both beyond excited!
“I Am The MST” Release Dates:
8/27 - “I Am The MST” Trailer
9/3 - The Vision
9/10 - The Foundation
9/17 - The Partners
9/24 - The Legacy
Would love for you to join me at one of more of these events:
9/10 - I will be leading a hike in Elkin, NC from Grassy Creek Winery to Carter Falls on the MST.  More information to come as we get closer.  The hike will start at 9am at the Winery and will be a round trip back to the Winery covering around 4.5 miles.
9/24 - "I AM THE MST" Premiere showing in Hillsboro, NC at the Main Library in downtown Hillsboro at 9am. followed by a hike with Beverly Scarlett.  Beverly is featured in our documentary series and we will be showing her portion of the series titled "The Foundation" and then Beverly will be leading us on a hike featuring some of the highlights in town you will see in the film.  I am also excited to announce there will be coffee and muffins served at the Premiere compliments of The Mebane Trail Rangers and the folks over at Keep Durham Beautiful will be joining us as well.
10/6 - 10/9 Woods Hole Weekend - The Hiking Radio Network will be hosting a weekend retreat at the famous "Woods Hole Hostel" on the Appalachian Trail in Pearisburg, NC.  We will be hiking, hosting workshops, and sharing with you all tips and guidance on Thru Hiking and Section Hiking the Appalachian Trail.  As soon as I have registration information I will share via email, Instagram, and Facebook.  Participation will be limited so keep that in mind as we get closer.
Thanks for listening to the podcast and I truly appreciate your support!  If you have a moment one of the ways you can help me promote the podcast is to give a rating and review on Apple Podcasts!  Right now I have 98 reviews and it would be awesome to get that to 100 or more!  The more reviews and ratings a podcast has the more Apple will share and recommend on their platform!
Happy Section Hiking!
