Podcast Host

What’s up everyone. I am the host of The Hammock Hangers Podcast. I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me. My name is Paul Collins, but I normally go by Skunkape in the hammock and hiking worlds. I got my start into hammocks back in 2011 when I was planning my 2012 thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. My first hammock that I owned was the Clark North American. Which is the one I did my thru hike with. Of course, I couldn’t have just 1 hammock, and I needed other gear like more quilts and all, so I started looking through some of the Facebook hiking gear swap groups to find more. What I found though was me spending hours just sifting through all the normal hiking gear to find something hammock related occasionally. That’s when I decided to start my own Facebook group for hammock related gear and items only and called it Hammock Hangers Flea Market and Trading Post. It is now the largest hammock related items gear swap on Facebook with over 10,000 members now. Since then, I have also become one of the organizers for the largest hammock gathering group hang in the country called HangCon which is held in Florida. So that’s just a quick introduction of who I am. I hope that you will listen and enjoy the podcast as new episodes come out each week. And maybe one day I can have you on as a guest too so that we can talk hammocks.
