Meet Charlie Carpenter, also known as Skyhawk, as he shares with Jester his plans for section hiking in 2022. Follow along with Charlie on his social media as he section hikes on the Pinhoti Trail, Colorado Trail, and on the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire and Maine this summer. Charlie also shares with Jester his battle with two types of Cancer, and how he continues to pursue his hiking dreams!

Charlie Carpenter
Married with 2 step-sons and 6 grandchildren. Avid hiker/paddler for 20 plus years and
Retired Firefighter/Paramedic City of Mobile, Al.
Diagnosed in 2008 with Esophageal Cancer at age of 42 with a terminal diagnosis. After second opinion, undergoing treatments and surgery, have been cancer free since 2008. Diagnosed with melanoma in 2010 and surgery performed. Regular checkups and no evidence of any recurrence.
My motto is: Don’t wait, do it now.
